Cold Creek Conservation Stewardship (The Stewardship) is a committee created by Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). The Stewardship, through an agreement with TRCA and King Township, works to protect, restore and enhance the forest and wildlife area of Cold Creek Conservation Area (Cold Creek) for public enjoyment and education.
Through the financial support and volunteer work of The Stewardship, a variety of events and educational activities are designed to enrich your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of Cold Creek. The Stewardship’s main focus is on environmental protection and restoration of the area.
As a member, you can assist The Stewardship committee with restoration activities, volunteer your time at special events, fundraise and much more.

The Township of King, in partnership with TRCA and the Cold Creek Stewardship, was awarded a $192,000 grant (2007 – 2009) from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The grant helped fund the restoration of the Education Centre, Visitor Centre, bog boardwalk and the Heritage Barn.
The Stewardship used funds from past community sponsors to write and publish a 56 page Interpretive Guide to Cold Creek and new informational signage alone the 6.6 km of trails.
The Stewardship members initiated a study of the forest composition and a tree measurement survey. The Stewardship maintains 50 song bird boxes and 10 Wood Duck boxes. We now see Eastern Bluebirds nesting.
Utilizing grants, tree planting events were organized to connect woodlots.
